An introduction to Callum Forbes
Growing up in the suburbs of Melbourne, Callum was surrounded by music from an early age. With a guitarist father as his first inspiration, he picked up the instrument at age 8 and quickly connected with it. As a teenager, he threw himself into playing in bands and exploring different sounds, and by 14, he knew he wanted to pursue music seriously and dedicate himself to the craft.
Today, Callum is a versatile guitarist with a passion for everything from laid-back, melodic styles to heavier, more aggressive genres. He teaches guitar, records both on location and from his personal studio 'Crimson Field Studio' and performs live, always aiming to create music that feels authentic and expressive.
Callum's connection with audio
Callum’s interest in audio took hold at 16, when he began studying sound and started paying closer attention to the way music was captured and produced. Going to gigs and diving deep into records, he became obsessed with how sound could be shaped—how it made you feel.
That fascination grew into a creative drive. Whether it’s finding the right tone on the guitar or dialling in the perfect mix, Callum constantly pushes to recreate and evolve the sounds that inspired him growing up.
